I. Kovacic: Integraler Brandschutz und Akustikkonzepte
Iva Kovacic is founder and head of the Research Group for Integrated Planning Research areas: Integrated building design and life-cycle optimization of built environment. Energy- and resources efficient industrial facilities. Building Information Modelling for Life Cycle Optimization.
Born in 1973 in Zagreb, Croatia
Master of Architecture in 1998 at Vienna University of Technology.
Collaboration in architectural studios in Austria, Germany and USA.
Postgradual Study in Construction Management till 2002 at Bauhaus Universität Weimar.
PhD in 2005 at Faculty of Civil Engineering at Vienna University of Technology.
Habilitation in 2016.
Licensed Architect of Bavarian Chamber of Architects.
Research Projects as Initiator and Coordinator:
BIM_Sustain Building Information Modelling-supported Planning for Sustainable Buildings
CO_BE Cost-benefits of integrated planning
Analysis and simulation of the life-cycle cost-benefits of increased efforts for integrated planning, resulting with 3-module Integrated Planning Guidelines
As Project Partner:
INFO Interdisciplinary research for energy efficiency in production – integral simulation of energy-efficient industrial facility on micro and macro level (machine-process-building)
ReCoRe – Resources Conserving Renovation, ERACO-Build
TechNet Energy-efficient housing – Development of calculation method for cost- and energy efficiency of single and multi-family housing – completed in February 2011
I. Kovacic developed in her PhD thesis a model for holistic evaluation of building sustainability, together with planning strategy for sustainable buildings.
She is head of Research Group for Integrated Planning; which focuses on interdisciplinary design and planning process in a collaborative manner, using Building Information Modelling.
The employed research methods range from the quantitative assessment of life-cycle costing, life-cycle analysis, building perfromance evaluation, post occupancy evaluation; over to empirical research such as role playing experiment.
